Introducing the Brave Artist Mentorships
Are you looking to push your creative journey to the next level? Would direct support from experienced artists help you move forward?
If so, consider signing up for one the Brave Artists Mentorships. Whether you’d want 1:1 support, or to be part of a cohort of other artists looking to grow, we’ve got multiple options for you.
Our group mentorships are a mix of classroom style teaching/demos, personalized feedback, group coaching, and optional office hours. These are not passive webinars – we expect you to show up for your art. These mentorships are highly personalized to the cohort’s needs and meet weekly online via Zoom.
A strict “No AI” policy will be enforced; you will learn to excel through using your own hands, mind, and heart.

What’s the application process like? Why do you have one?
The application process mainly consists of questions about yourself and your artistic practice. We have an application as we want to make sure that your goals and existing skills aligns with any particular mentorship.
What are the requirements for a mentorship?
Requirements vary depending on the mentorship, but generally you’ll need access to Zoom (ideally on a tablet or larger) with a camera and mic, and stable internet connection. Mentorships are conducted in English, and require time set aside for homework.
What’s “Week Zero”?
Week Zero is the week before a mentorship session. This is when you’ll receive your onboarding information and any prep work you’ll need to finish prior to class starting in the first week.
Where are the mentorships sessions held?
For greater accessibility purposes and to support artists from around the globe, we hold all our classes online over Zoom.
Who runs these mentorships?
Currently our mentorship instructor roster is the co-founders of the Brave Artists, Eve Skylar and Rick Kitagawa.
Do you offer certificates?
As a proudly independent, unaccredited educational platform, we do not offer certificates.
Are there any discounts?
We do not offer discounts, but we do offer partial and full scholarships. If price is the main barrier to considering a mentorship, we highly encourage you to apply anyway and note that a scholarship is needed in your application.
What’s your recording policy?
We record all sessions, and you will have access to them for 3 months after your mentorship ends. That said, this is not a passive class – you are expected to attend all sessions in-person with your camera on.
What’s this about future session access?
Pending space, mentees will also be invited to join all future iterations of this group mentorship, at a non-feedback level, for free.
This means that as long as there is space, once accepted into a group mentorship, you will be invited to rejoin any future iterations of that mentorship at no cost to you. You will not, however, in future iterations, be given any feedback on your work, as the time needed for feedback will be reserved for the most current class of mentees.
